Welcome to Find My Tutor India (“Find My Tutor”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information across all of our services.

This single Privacy Policy applies to all of the following (collectively, the “Services”):

Our website— the Find My Tutor website (findmytutorindia.com) and its student, tutor, and admin dashboards.
FMT Live (our online classroom / video platform)— the platform used to conduct and record live online classes.
The Find My Tutor mobile app— our Android and iOS application (package com.findmytutorindia.app).

By using any of the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on which of the Services you use, we may collect:

Account & personal details — name, phone number, email address, and password (stored in encrypted/hashed form).
Profile information — your role (student, parent, or tutor), academic preferences (subjects, class, board, exam goals), qualifications, and, for tutors, teaching details.
Location information — your city or area (e.g., Aligarh or nearby areas) to help match you with suitable tutors.
Payment information — when you make a payment or subscribe, transactions are processed by our payment gateway (Razorpay). We receive confirmation and transaction records, but we do not store your full card, UPI, or bank details on our servers.
Live class audio & video — when you join a live class, your camera and microphone stream is transmitted so that participants can see and hear each other.
Class recordings — live classes may be recorded (audio, video, screen share, and chat) for later viewing, quality, and safety purposes.
Content you upload — profile photos, study materials, assignments, submissions, and files or images you choose to share.
Messages & chat — messages exchanged with tutors, students, support, or in class chat.
Assessments & results — answers you submit and the results generated.
Device & technical data — device type, operating system, app version, IP address, and (on mobile) a push-notification token to deliver notifications.
Usage data — pages or screens visited, features used, and interactions, to help us improve the Services.

3. Device Permissions (Mobile App)

The Find My Tutor mobile app may request the following permissions. Each is used only for the feature described, and you can control or revoke most of them in your device settings:

Camera — to show your video during live classes.
Microphone — to transmit your audio during live classes.
Notifications — to alert you about class reminders, messages, and updates.
Photos, media & files — to let you upload or download study materials, assignments, and profile pictures.
Screen recording / screen share — only when you actively choose to share your screen in a class.
Bluetooth & audio settings — to route audio to headsets or speakers during a class.
Network state & alarms/scheduling — to maintain a stable class connection and deliver on-time class reminders.

4. How We Use Your Information

To connect students with suitable tutors and manage bookings.
To create and secure your account and verify your identity.
To host, conduct, and record live online classes.
To process payments, subscriptions, and payouts.
To send class reminders, updates, offers, and support communications.
To store and deliver study materials, assignments, and recordings.
To improve our Services and user experience.
To ensure platform safety, prevent misuse, and comply with legal obligations.

5. Live Classes & Recordings

During a live class, your audio, video, screen share, and chat may be visible to other participants in that class. Classes may be recorded so that students and tutors can review them later and for quality and safety purposes.

Recordings are stored securely and made available only to the relevant participants and authorised Find My Tutor staff.
We do not publish or sell recordings, and we do not use them for advertising.
If you do not wish to appear on camera, you may turn off your camera or microphone during a class.

6. Service Providers We Rely On

To operate the Services, we use a small number of trusted service providers who process certain data strictly on our behalf and only to provide their function. They are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes. These include:

Payment processing — Razorpay, to securely handle payments and subscriptions.
Cloud hosting & storage — our hosting and cloud-storage providers, to run the Services and store files and recordings.
Push notifications — Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, to deliver notifications to the mobile app.
Email & OTP delivery — our email provider, to send verification codes, receipts, and important notices.

These providers may store data on infrastructure located outside your country. We share only the minimum information necessary for them to perform their service.

7. Our Data Commitment

Beyond the trusted service providers listed in Section 6, we are committed to keeping your data private:

We do not sell your data. Your personal information is never sold, rented, or traded to any individual, company, or organisation.
No advertising or data brokers. We do not share your personal information with advertising networks, marketing platforms, or data brokers.
Limited internal use only. Your data is used by the Find My Tutor team only to provide and improve the Services described in this policy.
Legal obligation only. We will disclose information if required by a court order or applicable law, and only the minimum information required.

8. Cookies & Similar Technologies

Our website uses essential cookies and similar technologies (such as secure login tokens and local storage) so the site and app function correctly — for example, to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work correctly.

9. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted passwords, secure connections (HTTPS), and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Data Retention

We keep your information only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it.

11. Children’s Privacy

Our Services are used by students, some of whom may be minors. Where a user is under the age required to consent in their jurisdiction, a parent or guardian should create and manage the account and provide consent on the child’s behalf. We collect from students only the information needed to provide tutoring and never use children’s data for advertising. If you believe a child has provided us information without appropriate consent, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Your Rights & Account Deletion

You can request access to the personal data we hold about you.
You can request correction of inaccurate data.
You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
You can opt out of marketing communications at any time.

13. Third-Party Links

Our Services may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to review their policies.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last Updated” date above, and continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
